biography

1946 Born in Sapporo, Japan
1969 Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts
1969-71 Studied Ceramics at École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et
des métiers d’art, Paris
1972-75 Studied ceramics-making in West Africa
