In his younger days, Seitaro joined the crew of an American ship as a lower-class sailor.
He traveled the oceans of the world, drawing whatever touched his heart.

With Seitaro’s advice, Taizo decided to travel alone to Paris by ship.
Later, he met Shimaoka Tatsuzo which prompted him to start working in ceramics and pottery.

Living in Moji and Ito, both places with breathtaking views over the sea,
the two brothers continue their artistic lives.

Seitaro, whose works are as colourful and passionate as himself.
Taizo, who pursues the purity of white porcelain, both in colour and shape.
The works by the two brothers are so different, yet the nature of showing the real self are the same.

The two brothers crossed the vast oceans and found their ways to express themselves,
and yet, their journey continues…
